The book talks about every Now That’s What I Call Music album from the very first one released 28th November 1983 right up until Now 91 which was released 27th July 2015!
The NOW That’s What I Call Music albums were originally a UK only thing but I’ve looked now and they seem to be available all over the world pretty much.
The album idea came about after Virgin Records had a particularly successful year in 1983 and wanted a way to showcase all of the biggest hits from the finest artists on their roster.
At the same time that Virgin Records had this idea a similar thing was being planned over at EMI and to cut a long story short the two ended up merging the idea and Voila! Now That’s What I Call Music was born!
Now heading into its 34th year the Now albums are still going strong and have become an integral part of the history of modern day music.
The albums catalogue all of the popular hit singles from 1983 to present day and that’s just fantastic! You may not care too much right now about what was popular in the charts in 2015, I know that I’m personally not too bothered but I know that in years to come when I’m looking back on 2015 and remembering the year I went self-employed and a lot of changes happened I’ll be glad that I can also reach for Now 90, 91 and 92 and look at all of the songs that were popular in that year!
My Dad bought me this book because he knows that I adore music books and he thought I’d enjoy reading it, which I did! It wasn’t until I was about halfway through the book that the series idea even came to me!
I’m not intending on infringing any copyright laws with this series, nor is this series in anyway sponsored by the Now That’s What I Call Music franchise or any of its associates, I just want to share my love of the Now Albums and take a look back at as I said before an integral part of the history of modern day music!
If you’d like to buy the album so that you can read it with me then here’s a link to where you can purchase the book on Amazon, I’m also not sponsored by Amazon nor is this in any way an affiliate link, I’ve just chosen to share the Amazon link because I know that Amazon is Worldwide and you, my readers come from all over the world.
