Mission Sleep – Operation Headspace – Insomniac Problems

Insomnia is one of the most annoying things ever.

I’ve suffered terribly with insomnia for a long time now, most days I’m lucky if I fall asleep before 7am, which is really inconvenient when I have to be up not long after that because life goes on whether I’ve slept or not.

I’ve tried a lot of things to try and help me sleep but nothing seems to work!

I was messing around on my phone the other day and put ‘meditation’ into the App Store, many apps came up but one that caught my eye was an app called Headspace.

The Headspace app is free and it offers a program of 10 days guided meditation 10 minutes a day, for free. If you like the 10 days then you can go on to pay for different / longer courses but if you don’t want to pay then you can use the 10 day free course as many times as you like although I assume once you’ve ‘learnt’ it you won’t need to listen.

Now I haven’t listened to any of the days yet so I have no idea if this app is any good or not but I like the concept of it, especially the fact it’s only 10 minutes a day. (In my case I’ll be using it at night)

I thought it’d be fun to test it out and blog about it each day and tell you my experiences with it and then if this doesn’t work I’ll try other things and just keep blogging about them until I’ve blogged myself to sleep..

I know from talking to a lot of you that many of you suffer with insomnia so I thought maybe we could all try this together?! If you fancy giving it.a go the app is available from both ITunes and Android app stores free of charge.

      Me too! I posted up my review of night one before (don’t know if you saw it) but I actually slept a little haha.

      Same cant be said for tonight however..

      It’s 2.15am and I feel like its 2 in the afternoon haha.

      1. How long do you usually sleep? I’m trying to read some of your blog, but I haven’t seen it before today.

        I know what you are going through. There is nothing worse than not being able to sleep. Try to stay positive, but I know how hard that is. Nobody can really give any good advice. The only thing that helps is sleep, and we aren’t very good at it, apparently! 🙂
